​Tina E. Patterson, MDR,  MPA, FCIArb, CF APMP, CICM  
Principal

Tina E. Patterson, FCIArb, is an international arbitrator and mediator specializing in FinTech, technology, intellectual property, and domain name disputes. She brings a unique combination of payment systems expertise and more than 24 years of ADR experience, having handled more than 365 arbitration cases across financial services, technology, and commercial matters.
Ms. Patterson is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), an IMI Certified Mediator, and a CEDR Accredited Mediator. She serves on the arbitrator and mediator rosters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR), New Era ADR, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the DC Bar Attorney/Client Arbitration Board (ACAB). In 2026, she served as a Judge at the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna and as Presiding Arbitrator at the Africa in the Moot Special Virtual Post-Moot.
Her specialized expertise stems from multiple sources. She brings 18 years of experience in financial technology and payment systems. As Senior e-Commerce Business Analyst at Airlines Reporting Corporation, she led development of the industry's accreditation program and managed payment settlement systems serving over $100 billion in annual transactions. During her 15 years at Sabre Holdings, she held progressively senior product management roles, including managing a $1.3 billion suite of airline reservation and pricing products serving airlines, travel agencies, and joint venture partners worldwide. Ms. Patterson is also a domain name dispute specialist, having completed WIPO training in domain name arbitration and UDRP processes and conducted extensive academic research on cybersquatting, typosquatting, and domain piracy for her Master's in Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Patterson previously served as Program Manager for the American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution. She has contributed to CPR Institute's Arbitrator Disclosure Guidelines Task Force and Employment ADR Templates Task Force, and serves as a Drafting Team Member for The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology. She is a recognized practitioner in online dispute resolution (ICODR member, CALI Excellence Award) and has extensive experience facilitating complex multi-stakeholder processes for government agencies, corporations, and non-profits, including the National Climate Adaptation Science Center and numerous federal and state initiatives.
Ms. Patterson completed Advanced IP & Technology Mediation and Arbitration training at Stanford Law School (2023), earned her Master's in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, Straus Institute (2021), and received her Master's in Public Administration with distinction from American University, Key Executive Leadership Program (2025). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Language and Linguistics from Brown University and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Studies in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Southern Methodist University.
She is a member of the International Council for Online Dispute Resolution (ICODR), ITechLaw, and ArbitralWomen. She serves on the Council of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and as Co-Chair of the ABA State, Local, Trial, and Government Lawyers Section's ADR and Judicial Committee. Ms. Patterson previously served as a Commissioner on the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Montgomery County Planning Board (2017–2022), and as a Commissioner with the Montgomery County Human Rights Commission (2008–2014).
