​Jade Solutions Principal Tina Patterson (Unaffiliated) was reappointed to the Montgomery County Planning Board by the Montgomery County Council on May 18, 2021. The Montgomery County Board and its sister agency, the Prince George’s Planning Board form the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC). ​Ms. Patterson’s first term will expire on June 14, 2021. Jade Solutions Principal Tina Patterson partnered with Fish and Richardson, PC  to facilitate a book discussion for their employees. This discussion group was held over the course of four weeks, exploring Isabel Richardson’s New York Times bestseller  Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents (Caste) addressing race, systemic oppression, and white supremacy in our culture.  In Caste, Isabel Wilkerson  provides an analysis of the caste systems around the world and how they have impacted and caused harm to all involved, including those at the top. In order to move forward, examining the past and the racial structures that impede our culture is imperative.
Through the facilitated discussions, participants engaged deeply with the concepts of status, privilege, and intersectional oppression on the basis of race and socioeconomic status.
